A 13.3-inch Full HD frame with 8GB storage or a compact 7-inch TFT frame? Compare the BRAUN DigiFrame 1361 8GB and DigiFrame 711 on size, resolution and price to choose the right one.
Quick answer
Choose the BRAUN DigiFrame 1361 8GB if you want a large 13.3-inch Full HD display for a living room or as a feature piece. Pick the BRAUN DigiFrame 711 (black) if you need a compact, low-cost 7-inch frame for a desk, shelf or gift.
Screen size and resolution: the biggest practical difference
The DigiFrame 1361 8GB uses a 13.3-inch IPS panel with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, so photos appear sharp and remain viewable from wide angles. The DigiFrame 711 has a 7-inch TFT-LCD screen; its smaller size suits close-up viewing but cannot match the 1361's detail or viewing flexibility.
If the frame will be seen from across a room or by several people at once, the larger IPS display is the clearer choice. For a bedside table or a small shelf, the 711's compact footprint is an advantage.
Built-in storage and everyday convenience
The DigiFrame 1361 8GB includes 8GB of storage, which lets you keep a library of photos on the frame without relying on a memory card. The DigiFrame 711's supplied facts do not state internal storage, so treat it as a frame that plays images from removable media or another source—check the product page if storage matters to you.
The 1361 also adds programmable power on/off, an auto-start function and an HDMI input, which are useful if you want the frame to run on a schedule or double as a small display. The 711 keeps things simple: a compact frame for showing hundreds of favourite pictures.
Price and gift appeal
At catalog prices of USD 137.20 for the 1361 8GB and USD 31.44 for the 711, the two frames sit in different budget brackets. The 1361 costs more because of its larger Full HD IPS screen, 8GB storage and extra connectivity; the 711 is an affordable way to add a digital frame to a small space or to give as a gift.
Neither frame is the right choice for every room. The 1361 needs more wall or table space and a nearby power outlet for its scheduled functions. The 711's small screen is best for close viewing, not for a large wall.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Screen size vs. room space: The 1361's 13.3-inch screen makes photos a focal point but requires a larger surface or wall area; the 711's 7-inch screen is unobtrusive but best viewed up close. Measure your intended spot before deciding—large frames can overwhelm small rooms.
- Resolution and viewing angle: Full HD IPS on the 1361 keeps detail and colour stable from the side; the 711's TFT panel is adequate for straight-on viewing at close range. If guests will view the frame from an angle, prioritise the IPS display.
- Features vs. simplicity: The 1361 adds 8GB storage, programmable on/off, auto-start and HDMI input; the 711 focuses on straightforward playback of many photos. Choose the 1361 only if you will use its scheduling or HDMI features; otherwise the 711's simplicity may suit you better.
