Quick answer
If you need maximum built-in storage for a large photo library, choose the BRAUN DigiFrame 1594. If you want the largest, most premium display for your photos and videos, choose the BRAUN DigiFrame 1901.
Display size and visual impact
The BRAUN DigiFrame 1901 features an 18.5-inch IPS display, making it the larger and more immersive option. Its acrylic design and modern LED lighting give it a premium presentation that stands out on a wall or tabletop.
The BRAUN DigiFrame 1594 offers a 15-inch display, which is still generous for most rooms but smaller than the 1901. It also includes an HDMI input, allowing you to connect external devices like a media player or laptop.
Storage capacity and value
The 1594 comes with 16GB of internal memory, double the 8GB found in the 1901. This is a key advantage if you plan to store thousands of high-resolution photos or lengthy video clips directly on the frame.
However, the 1594 is a refurbished B-goods unit, meaning it may have slight packaging damage or minimal signs of wear. It still includes all functionally relevant accessories and a 12-month warranty, making it a solid value at a lower price point.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Storage capacity: The 1594 offers 16GB; the 1901 offers 8GB. If you need to store a large photo collection directly on the frame, the 1594 is the better choice.
- Display size and quality: The 1901 has an 18.5-inch IPS display with acrylic design; the 1594 is 15 inches. For the best visual impact, the 1901 wins.
- Price and condition: The 1594 is refurbished B-goods at a lower price; the 1901 is new. If you are on a budget and don't mind cosmetic imperfections, the 1594 offers great value.
- Connectivity: Both have HDMI input and audio out. The 1594 also functions as a media center. If you plan to connect external devices, either works, but the 1594's media center capability adds flexibility. Consider which connectivity is more important for your setup.
